i dunno, some people are annoyed by people who always use lower case
characters, others are annoyed by people who guess at answers to questions
when they don't really know the answers, and there are yet others who are
annoyed when somebody won't even hazard a guess at an answer. there are
probably some that are annoyed by the detailed, well researched, factual
messages that are posted by people like john h. and, if you look hard
enough, you might find some that are annoyed when somebody criticizes their
writing style as 'cute', or just plain tries to mandate their own personal
preference of style for everybody else.

no matter what you post, or no matter how hard you try to help, you're going
to tick somebody off. so why bother?

maybe richard should append his usage posts to include a style guide, or
enhance his spam filter to spell check, grammar check, or otherwise filter
out any posts that don't contain 100% proper grammar, capitalization,
punctuation, or whatever. he can also reject any posts in which the author
doesn't include his home address and telephone #, even if there's the
slightest chance that those items are completely irrelevant to whatever
question the poster is asking or responding to - *somebody* will be offended
if he doesn't know where the poster lives.

i'll look forward to the one or two posts per month that make it through. i
hope they have something to do with alfas..
