What car stars in "The Green Helmet"?

So I'm trying to catch up on my digests and have the TV tuned to
Speedvision and their late Saturday nite flick on the Lost Drive-In.
Tonight's feature is "The Green Helmet" a 1961 movie set in England with
lots of great cars in the background. The star, Rafferty, is a washed up
driver whose challenge is to drive a Jaguar powered homebuilt special to
success on the tires of a rich American industrialist. Anyway Rafferty
drives around in a nice Italian looking coupe and I can't figure out if it
is an Lancia or a Ferrari. Its most distinguishing aspect is its
diagonally angled headlights - kinda like the early 60s Continental.

Anyway, the movie has vintage racing footage, great XK soundtrack, and
Rafferty is supposed to race in at Sebring (with Jack Brabham), Le Mans,
and the Mille Miglia. Haven't seen any Alfas yet...

Too quick - just saw a Giulietta in the Sebring scenes and I think the
backside of a Sprint Speciale. Rafferty is driving a birdcage Maserati.
Original racing footage is wonderful. Guess who wins the MM?

KCT, Knoxville TN

Berlinas, Spider, GTV, XK140
