Canadian spec 164 again eh

Sorry to imply that the headlight washers were standard on Canadian cars,
they were an "option", meaning you got to pay extra if the car you were
offered by the dealer had them installed. The Canadian option would be the
same as for the US.

I acquired several "options" this way (but not the only quasi useful one:
headlight washers!), being unable to buy a base 164 for the incredible lo
lo price of $30,000 Canadian bucks. I wanted the lightest, cheapest 164
available, preferably with manually adjustable seats, cloth covered, and
with wind up windows, no sunroof and a manual climate control. Imagine if
I'd been able to get one, stick S cams in it after three years, I'd have a
dead reliable quick and fast ALFA with only one of the sad and sorry
defects that came as factory installed "options" on my 164L(the tranny
bearing would've failed in the base model too) and saved about $10,000.00.
I don't believe there was more than one base 164 imported into Canada,
who's got it?
