front plate infractions

A friend of mine, Kevin, who I used to work with about 10 years ago, got a
ticket for not having a plate on the front of the Porsche 924 he was than
driving. He didn't want to put one on as it spoiled the looks and had stashed
it at home, but now he couldn't find where on earth he had put it.

Kevin was a great procrastinator so he really did not do much about it, but
as the date of the court appearance neared he did get a bit panicky. At that
time in California if you got such a ticket and then got it "fixed" you could
simply pull over or go to any police officer have him verify this and get the
ticket "written off". So....

Kevin drives over to the Newport Beach Police Station and BACKS into a
parking spot. He then unscrews the license plate from the rear of the car,
goes around and screws it onto the front. Goes into the station and gets an
officer who walks half way down the stairs in front of the station, stops and
looks across the parking lot and sees a plate on the front of the Porsche.
Officer "writes off" the ticket and goes back into the station. Kevin exits
the parking lot, pulls off the road a couple of blocks away and puts the
plate back onto the rear of the car. How's that for imagination and "big
balls" ??? Honest, it's a true story!
