Renting Classic Cars to Movie Studios

Be careful with this. I've heard a couple horror stories of people getting
their cars back in terrible shape (scratches, dings, etc). I read a letter
from a man in Classic Auto Restorer magazine who rented his unrestored Model
T (?) to a movie company. It had the well worn original paint. When he got
it back, they had painted it very badly in a new color (they reused the car
in different scenes and painted it to look different) and had a couple dents
added. The studio simply said "It's an old car and you should be grateful
that you got a free paint job." I don't know if he was able to sue the
company for ruining his original car. This and the other stories I've heard
may be anomolies, but remember that the studio probably don't care about
your car the same way you do.
