bike rack

i'm looking at the saris bones to fit over my 164S spoiler, and it looks
like a fit for the spider, too.  i know one concern for the spider has
been the rack hanging too low and the bikes scraping.  an additional
concern for me is the week sheet metal of older spiders' trunks.  i would
be very skeptical about putting the weight of a few bikes right in the
middle of the trunk; toward the edges might not be to bad.  i know of at
least one system (made for things like the porsche whale fin) that puts
90% of the weight on the bumper

my advice, call/e-mail the following mail order houses and peruse their
catalogs. i've gotten great service from all of them for years.  i've
