flasher unit

Hi Tom,
My flasher unit has died, and I don't really relish the idea of spending
$109 to replace it. I ordered one from APE, but they sent me the wrong one
(three posts instead of the four I need), so I think I'm going to try
opening the thing up and see if I can fix whatever broken connection myself.
I also can't understand what would make such a simple switch so
expensive............
