164 temp warning light

Hi,
The temperature warning light comes on as soon as I start the car in 
the morning but then after about 3 miles starts to flicker on and 
off. Once the temp on the gauge reaches around 40C the light goes off 
and I carry on my way with no sign of overheat and no sign of 
trouble. Anyone know which of the temperature senders goes to the 
light and anyone seen the problem themselves.
