164 Remote (new question)

In a burst of brilliance, I sent my keys through the washing machine
after changing the oil on my 164.  My remote still works, but the LED is
stuck on.  Anyone ever encountered this?  My friend with a 164B (no
alarm) who is a tech has offered to fix it, but I'd rather not waste his
time.

On an unrelated noted, check your inner CV joints.  While changing the
oil, I noticed that all six bolts on the passenger side inner CV joint
were slightly lose.  I tried tightening them, but they wiggled lose
again after a couple of days.  I stopped at Village Alfa in Buffalo
(excellent service, as usual), and they replaced the bolts and installed
Nyloc nuts.  I'm hoping this will save me from replacing the joint in
the future.
