Woodley Park; and a diagnosis, please

Hello all-

So, the gathering on the lawn of Woodley Park was another success. For all
those in Southern California, you missed a good one. There were, by most
accounts more than 50 Alfas on the lawn for the 4th (dare Iday,m annual) Best
of Italy and Frnce car show , swap meet, and general good time extravaganza.
It was a bit like old home week, as I saw faces, people and cars, of those who
I had not seen in a while. I had less time than I thought to take pictures of
the wonderful cars assembled on the lawn.

For those not in the area, sorry you couldn't help us wring out the season,
with one last gasp of good weather and fine friends. The one car of that
interested me was a Spider which was trailered in; not a trailer queen, but a
project of someone's I would imagine. It was labeled as the first Giulietta
in production. I copied down no numbers, not that I would know real from
bogus, anyway. I did hear someone mention that it had the "wrong" motor; the
right series, but the wrong one. It was rough, but restoreable. That is why
I thought it might be a project car. Interesting.

The Alfetta ran good all day, but it is now exhibiting some rear suspension
weirdness. Seems like over some bumps and pavement irregualities (more
observsation is needed to figure out which ones) the rear end hops around a
bit. There is also some clunking going on back there. I am wondering if
another of the Koni hi-pressure gas shocks is packing it in. I think of this
a possibility mostly because one of the fronts already let go. Lost all its
hi-pressure gas. It wouldn't surprise me if the right rear is history, as
this the one closest to the exhaust, with all that heat. I gotta crawl
underneath and have a look-see. Any other ideas?

For now
