Speed checks via Radar by CHP (California readers take note)

Guys,

This weekend's San Jose Mercury News proudly announced on the front page that for
the first time, the California Highway Patrol will be using Radar on ALL of
California's freeways in an effort to curb speed offenders.

Previously, the CHP would only use Radar guns in counties that provide them with
the units.

My observation has been that while CHP cars are indeed in plain sight, they can
be hard to discern when they are underneath an overshadowing overpass/flyover.
Motorcycle-equipped personnel are even harder to spot.  Be suspect of long
sweepers as you can only spot the officer as you're exiting the bend.

Be careful out there.
