For the record, Land Rover's best year in the US was last year when they
sold more than 26,000 units. This year actual sales are ahead of last year,
so 30,000 units is a possibility. Did Alfa make a mistake by leaving?
Probably, although they would have had to weather another few years of poor
sales until the new 156 and 166 became available. Will Alfa return to the
US? Probably, but not under FIAT control.
