Some may know I'm bicultural (shock and dismay) having been born in
Britain to more or less British parents. The NA members of this digest
should be cautious in usage of Knocking and Knock.
Knock off, Knock on , knock up, and knock down have radically different
meanings in true English. You may indeed have knock offs, especially if you
drive a replicar, such as a VW MG TC. You could knock on, your wheel nuts
or other objects. Knocking up has at least two connotations, depending upon
your socio economic stratum. neither has much application to automotive
applications, although one is a consequence of certain rear seat activities
(not applicable to true sports models). Knocking down is straightforward
enough, often follows knocking up, if the young lady's male associates are
not adequately assessed for pugilistic talent prior to ... er.. the
aforesaid back seat activities.
