When used judiciously, cruise control can keep "The Man" off your case - 
especially on long highway trips.  Have discovered that Alfa throttle pedal 
control falls into the "involuntary" side of motor control - you just keep 
forcing the pedal down - even when not trying.  Pretty soon you are 
travelling at triple digit speeds.  This, as I'm sure you all are aware, can 
have significant deleterious effects on your insurance bill - not to mention 
those little cash flow impacts humorously known as speeding tickets (sounds 
like something you should buy when you want to go fast!). 
In this instance, Cruise Control is a good thing, you can save yourself from 
your own worst enemy!  Save your speeding for when it really matters!
