Hi Folks, I'm new to the list and enjoying it a great deal. I'm a former
British Car owner/driver. But I decided to sell them when I moved from the
East Coast to San Diego last summer. I had visions of California rust free
cars as far as the eye could see . . . Well, now that I've decided to buy a
late 50s or early 60s Alfa Spider, I've learned that the truly rust free
cars are not as plentiful as I thought. I've been checking the ads in
Hemmings and on the Internet, and I have found a few nice cars. But before
I buy one, I wanted to put out the word to the list to see if anyone knows
of a car for sale that might not have shown up in the usual places.
I'm looking for a mechanically solid and rust free (or nearly so) "driver."
I can't afford a newly restored car (at least not at the $15-25K prices I've
seen advertised), nor do I have the time or ability to take on a real basket
case. Something needing a good bit of cosmetic restoration, but that is
otherwise solid would be perfect.
Please let me know if you're aware of anything. Many thanks in advance.
Steve Semeraro
