I just blew through the upper radiator hose on my 91 164L. I had just
gotten home from a short drive around town, and as soon as i shut off the
car, I heard something blow. Sounded like a hose turning on and shooting
water; no explosion. Anyway, the coolant hit the manifolds and made quite
a cloud. It seems the hose has a cut in it about 3cm long. What is
strange is that there seems to be some sort of adhesive in the area, as
though someone had tried to patch a previous hole up. THe entire area
around the hole is bloated. Seems there was a lot of pressure. Anyone know
what might have caused this. so I can try to fix the source of the
problem? Should I not get a replacement hose from any import specialist?
