Norm-

  Do you also have weak headlights and increasing frequency of the alt. light 
when running them? Sound like your battery is nearly dead. I'd check that 
first and if not, suspect the "rebuilt" alternator, but probably your battery 
got killed by the failing alternator prior to the re-build. Been there, done 
that. Probably do it again. Good luck.
