re:Heater cores

Ralph askes about heater cores.

They are heat exchangers, simply put.  They are like small versions of a
radiator.  As long as the 'tanks', or side pieces aren't damaged, any
competent (have to put that in) radiator shop should be able to re-core a
heater for a fraction of the price of a new one.  Then again, I haven't priced
heaters lately, or radiators, for that matter.

YMMV - Then again, here in So Cal, with 100 plus (F) weather, who needs a
heater.  I promised to get the Alfetta one, one of these years.  Or is it the
valve?  Whatever, one of these years
