Funny. I just read an article, forgot if it was in Automobil, Car & Driver,
or was it Sports Compact Cars magazine. The editorials were equally
skeptical about it when a reader asked about them. The magazine people
went to 2 different companies made such a product, and asked them
to agree to dyno their product before and after the installation.

They had 2 different cars on 2 different dyno place in order to
cross check the result. 

One maker of such a product refused to comment while the other
said they would do so only if it ws installed by their own people.

Anyway, the outcome was that at different rpm ranges, the average 
from the 2 differen dyno houses were like
- -2hp, +.5hp, depends on the rpm range. Seems to improve
slightly at lower rpm, but reduces horses as rpm increases.

Since this isn only 4 data points, so they could not conclude anything
other than their dyno could not prove the claim of these vortex
spiral thing.
