Hey, not only are points and condensers Y2K compliant, but if you happen
to drive near a nuclear blast, the EMP won't wipe out your ignition
system.
Not long ago I was describing the workings of Spica to a friend with a
modern EFI-equipped car, and I mentioned that the Alfa had been built
before semiconductors.
Well, except for the chassis grounds, of course...
