Spder heater box core

I'm in the process of replacing the heater fan on my '74 SPider (& what a 
PITA job it is - whole front dash removal!!).  So with heater box in hand, 
I note that there is a lot of "corrosion"  ( the green/white kind) around 
the edges of the heater core 'radiator'.  Now this could just be from 
condensation (?) over 25 yrs or maybe the beginnings of leakage.

My question to the collective wisdom of the Digest................ignore or 
repair/replace??

As I don't particularly want to do this job again for many years, I'm 
leaning towards the repair or replace option.

Thoughts? Suggestions?
