Milano O2 sensor.

I changed the O2 sensor in the milano this morning which went really well.
No noticable improvement in anything. My question is while trying to verify
idle mixture I noticed that when the O2 sensor was disconnected the voltage
would drop to .01 when I reved 'er up a bit. With the sensor connected
everything seemed ok. Normal? Seems to idicate real lean.
