Andrew here's my .02 on your mods:
1)I took the marker lights off my '74 GTV and have never regretted the
pleasing aesthetic change. Really "cleans things up".

2) The block lettering on the back is unique to the '74's I believe so I
would retain that as I kind of like the looks of it.
A 50/50 split from my POV as another GTVer !!
