for the record, i've had one interaction with karl and it was highly
positive - he outbid me on a lot of alfa keychains on ebay, and when he
realized he was bidding against a fellow digester he off-line offered me a
portion of the lot at his cost.  i thought that was a pretty generous offer,
i certainly didn't detect any greed.
