They all DO NOT do that!  If the idle speed is up to 900-950 rpm the
alternator light will go out almost instantly.  If the cold idle air is
up to par, the light will go out.  Fred Di Matteo
PS, if one wishes to keep idle speed down below the specified speed,
then a little larger pilot bulb can be installed between the pos coil
terminal and the alternator exciter field circuit ( green wire terminal)
