I'm on thin ice commenting on a Spica pump. One trick that sometimes
works with stripped studs that don't carry a whole lot of weight or
torque, is to first run a die over the threads to clean up what's
left, then try putting the nut on with a few extra flat washers
underneath to get the nut into a region that still has some threads.
If the nut will screw on and off OK, you might just try some thin
flat washers under it first. Running a die over it will require
removing the cover again. Good luck.
