re: Alfa's unlikely return (cheap usa bastards)

hi all,

i'm the first to admit i'm a cheap bastard, but then, i think, even when it
comes to alfa-guys, i must be a *really* cheap bastard. i've never bought a gnu
car, and can't imagine a situation where i ever *wood* buy one. they're *all*
way too expensive, imho. sure, i looked at bmw's before i bought my 1st alfa.
but price wasn't a factor, the bimmers were used, too! i yust happened to think
that the werde blew away the 535, and the fact that i saved a little - well all
the better, but if i thought the 535 was nicer, price woodn't have gotten in the
way.

so, unless y'all are as cheap as i am - & i think that's not so, hearing about
all the gnu machinery purchased on this list - i don't think water disilva's
generalization about alfa not being able to sell gnu cars here, is necessarily
true. for myself, i must say however, that if i ever *were* in a financial
position to look at gnu cars, 1st on my list would be rwd models, followed
closely by awd models. unfortunately, not too many alfas now fit into either of
these categories...

ciao for now,
