In Europe we use batteries with the same dimensions as BMW, FIAT,
Opel, Peugot, SAAB and Volvo in millimetres (length by width by
height) 241 x 175 x 190. Especially the battery used in SAAB 900
Turbo fits perfect. Some of those models are available in the
States too.

I know people who have AUDI and VW batt with the height 175
millimetres in the Spider. Some Honda and Mistubishi cars have the
same height too.

I have 1967 Roundtail Spider and there is only 5 millimeters free
space between the bonnet and the minus pole with a 190 millimetre
batt. Have never had any problems there, but when I installed a
(compulsory here in Scandinavia) security switch at the battery
pole, I was kinda scared. The distance was sufficient however.

The Alfa Romeo Round-tail Spider sites. Now more than 760
round-tails in the register. This probably makes it the biggest
Alfa Romeo register on the web.

Old enough to remember when girls were girls, Alfa Romeo had
Weber carburetors and Jerry Lee Lewis was "the Killer".
