whats all this then?

Well, here's something,

Today in stop and go traffic the car suddenly died... No sweat. popped
the clutch and it just fired right up. So I says to myself, probably
just stalled it letting out the clutch. No missing sputtering etc.
Never did it before. Runs fine for another hour then suddenly dies
while driving in 4th at around 3000 rpm. Just like it was switched
off. I coast with it in gear for a stretch to see if it will re-fire,
it doesn't. Push the clutch in, switch off then back on and crank, it
fires right up. This is a new and unwelcome occurance. Replaced the
fuel pump a week ago as it was cranking and not firing up. This seemed
to cure that problem, now this. I'm leaning towards electrical problem
in the ignition circuit, but if it's going to be intermittent like this
it'll be a bear to trace. Anyone have any thoughts?

Ian
