1750 changes

Questions come up from time to time about the timing of a series of changes
in the 105 series Alfas that occurred some time during the production run
of the 1750 series. The changes for each model are listed in the January
1970 issue of Il Quadrifoglio in an article titled "Programa 70" that
describes the full product line for that year. I've listed the changes by
model, paraphrasing the original Italian using common English terms where
possible.

1750 Berlina
- -Dual braking circuit
- -Suspended brake and clutch pedals
- -New filter with dynamic air intake
- -Iodine headlights
- -Corrector for headlight inclination according to load
- -New front lights for position and direction
- -Side turn signals
- -Warning lights for brake fluid level and handbrake
- -New steering wheel
- -Better rear seat accommodations, with retractable center armrest with
integral storage bin
- -Larger front ash tray
- -New door opening/closing hardware
- -Wiper arms ad abbassamento totale (literally "completely lowering," but
I'm not sure what it refers to)

1750 GT Veloce
- -Dual braking circuit, pedals, air intake, exterior lights, warning lights,
wipers, and steering wheel as in the berlina, plus:
- -Rear accommodations enlarged and improved
- -Front and rear seats of new design
- -Front seats have adjustable headrests and advance automatically for better
access to the rear
- -New bumpers with rubber overriders

1750 Spider
- -Mechanical changes as in the berlina and GTV, plus:
- -new "coda tronca" bodywork and extensive exterior changes accompanying it,
plus interior changes:
- -New instrument panel
- -Interior console
- -New seats
- -Adjustable headrests on request

Other models listed are the Spider 1300 junior and the "gamma Giulia,"
including the 1300 TI and berlina, 1600 Super and S and GT 1300 junior.
The Giulias are said to continue unchanged ("rimangono invariato") with the
changes made in 1969; the GT junior shown in the accompanying photo is a
step-nose with 2 inboard headlights and thick bumpers. The description of
the 1970 Spider 1300 junior lists the same bodywork changes as the 1750,
but there is no mention of mechanical changes, including suspended pedals
and dual-circuit brakes.
