Bosch FI question

With all that Alfa passion expresed here recently I feel bad posting a
question that relates to non-Alfa. My only excuse is that I've owned
many Alfas in the past, to include '56 Gulietta Spider, '69 Spider
Junior 1300cc (imported from Spain), several 70's Spiders, '76 Alfetta
GT., and currently looking for one. My problem is I dont know which Alfa
I want this time. OK, if I could get my hands on that mustard yellow '98
Spider that I set in at a dealersip in Rome, the choice would be easy!
:-)
The car in question is a 1981 Lancia Beta coupe. I've had the car for a
total of 3 days now, and am totally impressed with it's condition. There
is a problem however in the fuel delivery somewhere. The car idles very
low when started from cold, and too high when warm. Sounds to me like
the cold start curcuit is inoperative and the idle has been adjusted too
high to compensate for it. Another problem may be related ... The car
has an exhaust detonation on deceleration (could it be from the mixture
being too rich because of the idle set too high?)
The car otherwise runs flawlessly. I have no experiense with Bosch
injection yet, and would apreciate any advise on what the problem might
be and what to check for first. I believe the FI system is the same as
in Alfa Spiders (at least from the early 80's)
TIA.
