hi don,
my gtwe6 has the full shankle set-up - but 'street-sport', not super-sport.
(sway-bars are the same) i'm also running the avo's. plenty stiff for the
street - good enuff for the occasional wenture out on the track. according to
alfa-ricambi's old catalog, super-sport springs are 35-39% stiffer than stock
(two spring choices); street-sports are 17% stiffer than stock (also two
choices, but only ride ht is affected). super-sport torsion bars are 86%
stiffer than stock (early model); 105% stiffer than stock (late model);
street-sport torsion bars are 34% stiffer than stock (early model); 54% stiffer
than stock (late model).
as far as wheels go, i had some 15x8's custom-made for me, but the guy sez he
won't bother w/alfa-wheels any more - no money in it; he's cleaning up on the
bigger (wheel/bolt pattern)racing stuff. i'm running 225-50-15's, & i recommend
ewe go w/the 8" wide rim for the 225's. ewe could also use 225-45-16 - this
also closely approximates the stock tire diameter. i was considering it, but
there's greater tire awailability in the 15" size, and a better ride/less chance
for rim damage than w/the 45-aspect ratio tires on 16" wheels. (ewe could also
go nuts w/225-40-17's, but tire selection is really minimal, potential for rim
damage is really maximal!)
compomotive is the only place i know (short of custom) that can do 15" & 16"
wheels that are 8" wide.
hope this helps,
doug
