My heart belongs to Alfa

OK Al Fista, the gauntlet is picked up, if only to be dropped like a hot
potato if challenged. The first narrow, vaguely heart shaped grille appears
on the 6C 2500, body by Touring, probably immediately post war (number2
that is). Later 40's and 50's Alfa's bear a more heart shaped grill, with
the "moustaches" each side of the bottom of the radiator intake. The
earliest really heart shaped grille shows up on the early 60's Zagato
sports model of the postwar 2600. The shape appears to be evolutionary as
the pre war 2300 had a grille pointed at the bottom, but more or less
symmetrical with a corresponding point at the top. Somebody must have more
precise info.

BTW, for the pedantic audience, the periods between the letters of the
acronym A.L.F.A. (which as everybody knows represent the Anonima Lombarda
Fabbrica Automobili, a lawyer just loves the idea of calling a company "the
anonymous automobile manufacturers of Lombardy" sub nom: sue us we don't
care!) were dropped when Nicola Romeo bought the company and started making
cars again instead of shells in 1918 (after the war when the Italians were
on "our" side for most of the time).
