Need to get a hard top from Va. to Ca.

  In about 2 months I'll be moving to Ca.  I'm selling 6 of my 7 cars,
keeping only the '74 Spider which I plan on driving from one coast to
the other.  The car has a very nice hard top, but I don't want to drive
to Ca. in a convertible without being able to put the top down.  Any
suggestions on how to get the top to the west coast some way other than
on the car?  I'm sure shipping would be expensive (probably more than
the cost of just buying another top in Ca.).  Anybody sending a Spider
to the west coast and want a hard top to protect your nice soft top
while it's in transit?
