Milano Clutch problem

Funny thing happened on the way home tonight.........!!  Shifted gear in 
Milano , felt normal but it didn't go into gear (jumped out).  When I 
pressed the clutch pedal again, it was VERY stiff & wouldn't go all the way 
to floor.  I could shift gear (barely) and proceed - fortunately I was only 
a few blocks from the house.  Any thoughts?

Desperate.....AGAIN!! (its been a bad year for unusual clutch related 
problems - this is car #3!!!)
