Which engine?

Hi Alfisti,
I would like to retire and preserve my low miles 750/1300cc engine with 4
sp. tunnel case in my 750 Sprint. Friends have offered (for a price of
course) their 1600SS and 1750 engines. I used to run a US spec. 2000 GTV.
I also want to add a moly 5 speed.
My question is this. Which Alfa engine (1600 or 1750, or 2000) would suit
my Sprint the best for road and time trials applications? Please include
mention of preferred cams and fuel system with reasons. I admire the lively
feeling of a 1600, but also appreciate the relaxed motoring offered by a
2000. Please also consider fit and cold air supply for induction. And be
aware that Sprints have more clearance between the bonnet and engine than
the 750/101 Spiders.
Also BTW, is there someone out there that has adapted an Eaton supercharger
to an Alfa engine?
Cheers, Peter
