O2 sensor/graphical display

Hey cats:

AR Ricambi or IAP have recently put in their catalogs
a fuel mixture display device that takes it's reading from
the O2 sensor. For cars w/o electonic fuel injection they
supply an O2 sensor and a fitting to be welded into the
exhaust system. 

Would the fitting on my new cat work? It's not an Alfa
cat. It's a late model high flowing cat with a port coming
out that has a screw plug in it.

Would any O2 sensor work with the device? Do all O2
sensors give off a standard signal or are some particular
to the engine management system?
