hi jay, last week ewe said:

some wehicles actually recommend a filter-change interwal twice as often as the
oil. prolly not a bad idea, but i feel that unless ewe are driving a lot on
dirt roads, the filter is ok for 10k miles. as far as the oil itself, i don't
understand why EVERYONE isn't using a synthetic 5w50, or 10w60 in all their
wehicles - even my lawnmower & garden tractor get it. my buell gets it
half-n-half w/harley-davidson dino juice, cuz harley sez the synthetic stuff is
too slippery (!?!) for the roller bearing cranks! there's some gnu "v-twin"
synthetic that's out now, haven't seen it anywhere yet... if any engine really
needs the heat protection that synthetics provide, it's a harley engine!
ciao for now,
doug s.
