Re: window tinting

In Texas it's legal to tint *all* but the windshield (although you can get
a medical exception and tint it also). All Texas window tinters are
required to abide by the window tint regs in Texas. Some vehicle inspectors
will check the tint for not exceeding the legal limits in the state. (The
CA law is really dumb, IMHO! Limitations on the darkness of the tint seem
to make more sense than banning it on the windows forward of the seat
backs.)

One point not yet made about tinting benefits: the tinting will reduce the
amount of UV penetration in the vehicle and have a dramatic affect on the
deterioration of the interior. The seats in my `83 GTV6 (from an `85
actually) have yet to need to be re-upholstered.
