Re Radar Detection in the 164 AD V7 #819

I clipped my power lead for a radar detector into a switched ciruit (sun roof
control switch power leads if I recall correctly) the light binnacle on the
roof, pushed the cable inside the joint of the roof lining and then came back
along the sun visor finally affixing the detector, upside down, with stong
elastic bands.
Quite tidy and not that easily seen.
Just make sure you getthe polarity of the power correct!!
However I did have a run in with the Swiss policae who stopped me at the border
and, as illegal there, asked that I put in in the glove box until I left the
country.  The French police were a tad more difficult but I did manage to talk
my way out of a 5,000FF (about $800) fine for having such an illegal device in
my car.  The latter just couldn't understand why I wasn't speeding when
following a Peugeot 406 estate car loaded with cameras and radar guns on the
autoroute ..  can they detect when you have a detector on board????
