milano verde - clunking from left front under braking

hi all,

my milano has been clunking, only while braking, from the left front.  clunk is
definitely related to wheel revolution - one revolution = one clunk.  everything
(except what i missed!?!) seems tite.  rotor doesn't appear warped, and the
usual shimmy w/warped rotor is not present.  any suggestions?
