paul glynn ran a gtv6 last winter as his ice racer. i think he came in
second place overall, just behind a pretty modified scirocco, or some other
volkswagon product. the gtv6 is pretty mild, with some tuning done to the
motor, stock suspension, studded tires, and a platinum rear end.

nothing can touch him in a straight line, and of course his racing line
through the corners is quite different from the front wheel drive cars.

even funnier, he showed me a copy of a bmw club newsletter for some ice
racing stuff in maine. all of the bmw's were running lap times of around a
minute, and one rookie showed up in a milano and his lap times were around
thirty five seconds! they placed the non-bmw lap times at the very bottom
of the results, and there was this one milano and one volkswagon running in
the low thirty second lap times, and all of the bmw's, including the ones
with traction control, were around a minute.
