Re: alfa-digest V7 #741, Italian Translations

The babelfish translation software returned the following:

True E' Ian. To have friends on internet e' a best solution in order
to understand gl' Italian friends che' writes on the Digest. I
believes that in prosimmo future the universal translation sara'
available to all we in order to read in whichever language that us
servants.

Which I can 'translate' to:

It's true Ian. To have friends on the internet is the best solution in order
to understand what Italian friends write on the Digest. I believe that in
the (prosimmo) 'near?' future universal translation software(?) available to
everyone will enable us to read in whatever language suits us.

Did I pass the test?

I notice that babelfish is limited at times, and I guess modern terminology,
or technical details may cause it a problem. My friends used it while
working in Italy, for coding comments in computer software.

If anyone does not understand the 'babelfish' joke, it relates to the
book(s) 'The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy' by Douglas Adams, and refers
to a distant bunch of aliens who use the 'babelfish' as a translation tool.
It fits in your ear, and by some miracle of evolution (and symbiosis) ,
manages to change the sound waves into your own language - far fetched I
know, but kinda fun. Would be interesting to know what it would make of the
wail of an Alfa V6!

Ciao,

Ian
