I find this thread very interesting.  While neither of my Alfas have a bosch 
injection system.  My 78 Mercedes 450 SL does.  I have never had any problems 
with Bosch parts in any of my Mercedes that wasn't directly attributed to 
abuse, high mileage, or neglect.  Perhaps Bosch has different qualities they 
manufacture according to the manufacturers specs?  Or maybe its the way the 
car manufacturer designs the components into the system.  I have heard 
several mechanics say that Mercedes over designs their systems but on the 
other hand they do have a high reliability reputation.
