porsche pressure plate questions

i have a couple of questions regarding porsche pressure plates in an alfa
application.

i've heard that a hot setup is to use the pressure plate from a 2 liter
porsche 911, but that it chews up friction disks rapidly. after doing some
research, i'm told that the original copper faced pressure plate chews up
friction disks, but the later chrome faced pressure plate works fine. the
porsche pressure plate weighs about half of what a stock alfa pressure plate
weighs, and bolts right up to the flywheel.

well, i've got myself a chrome faced porche pressure plate, and a custom
made aluminum ridge to make machining the stock alfa flywheel simpler. the
question is, what throwout bearing to use?

the porsche bearing won't work, and the stock (early) alfa bearing doesn't
look right, but the later stock alfa bearing shows promise.

has anybody seen this application used in an alfa? does anybody know what
thowout bearing to use? paul glynn can make me a bearing out of the
porsche one and an alfa one, but if there's a straightforward fit..

tia,

bs
