battery drain

Sounds to me like the battery is self discharging across the top of the
battery through the electrolyte on top.  Current flows from Positive
terminal to ground via the shortest route which can also be the metal
tie-down angle iron.  To stop that process, simple dissolve a heaping
tablesspoonful of baking soda into a quart of luke warm water, wash the top
of the battery, a brush helps and when done, rinse with clear cold water and
