I think that the Alfa V6 was designed in the early 70's,
but did not go into production until the very late 70's in
the Alfa 6. This was later fitted with fuel injection and
eventually was developed into the 3L v6.

Alfa seem to have a habit of leaving engine designs on
the shelf. I hear that when Clan cars in Northern =

Ireland (makers of the Alfa 33 based mid engined Clan =

Clover) were wound up there was a brand new shrink
wrapped engine in the parts auctioned off. This turned
out to be a 16V 33 engine, yet Clan went bust 3 years
before this engine went into production for the Alfa 33.
