I had the problem with the plastic door sticking too. After lubricating it, it
still did not want to open. I noticed that the end on y key had become rounded
over, so I filed it more to a point. This allowed the end of the key to contact
the door at a smaller contact point and pushed the door open.

I can't explain why the cylinder would come out of the handle, unless something
inside the mechanism is shearing off the retainer, have not had one apart this
far to see.
