Paul,
You many want to ask how much the cover covers. That is, I have
an '88 Graduate, and the boot cover I have sounds like the
inexpensive one you describe: clips around the periphery which
attach to the chrome/plastic rail that runs behind the (folded)
top. It should also include a couple of hanging straps with
grommets close to where the cover meets the doors, to be fastened
via a turning "knob" on the car. It works, but those clips can
be hard to attach/detach; I usually have to slide a couple around
to get to a "low spot" on the rail - or to a place where I
can get better leverage.
I've seen other covers that enclose the open space behind the seats,
with a zipper for access to whatever you've got back there. These
tend to be thickly padded, attached via the screw posts rather than
the clips, and give a more finished appearance. Of course if
you have rear mounted speakers this isn't the best option.
So - ask the vendors to describe the covers in a bit more detail.
Let me know what they say - I've been thinking about the full
cover myself ('cause I'm kicking myself for not picking one up
a few years back at the Florida club's market/swap at Sebring
for about $150).
John
