Absolutly...I replaced the stock water pump mounted fan with a OTC fan I 
bought from a local auto parts emporium.  Yes, it had to be mounted in the 
front of the radiator and converted to a pusher (i.e. reversed the fan 
pitch), but so what...it worked great and without the aerodynamic drag from 
the fan, the engine actually felt stonger (SOP).  I added a mechanical 
adjustable thermostat and it was fine.  I recommend it.  Worked great, even 
in the summer heat of south texas.  Set it to run after the key is turned off 
until the coolant cools down.
